Annual Fund

Annual giving is the financial lifeblood of any school and is used to support the current year’s budget. The funds are used to help cover the difference between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. It is a tax-deductible opportunity for parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, parishioners, and friends to help make a difference in the future of Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School. An Annual Fund gift is a tangible vote of confidence in Saint Jude School.

After 20 years, the Principal Advisory Council, Finance Committee, and Leadership Committee are pleased to announce the 2024-2025 Annual Fund Giving Levels including the new “Grey Nun Society” named after Saint Jude’s founding order, The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart of Philadelphia! There are now two main Giving Levels with 4 Societies and 3 Circles.  Every giving level is vital to the success of Saint Jude – which supports the mission of nurturing the formation of our Saint and Scholars!

Grandparents - Sts. Anne & Joachim Guild - Grandparents play an important role in the lives of our students - bringing love, joy and wisdom across generations.  Saint Jude is pleased to offer the "Sts. Anne and Joachim Guild" named after Jesus' Grandparents, the patron Saints of Grandparents.  Grandparents who donate to the Annual Fund will become part of the Sts. Anne and Joachim Guild – any gift amount is welcomed!  With an Annual Fund gift, grandparents can honor and support their grandchildren's Catholic education, as every student and program benefits from these generous gifts.   Grandparents can make gifts via check, credit card, gift of stock, Donor Advisor Funds and/or corporate matching gifts.  All grandparents who donate to the Annual Fund via the Sts. Anne & Joachim Guild will be recognized in the Annual Report.

Endowment Fund

The Endowment Fund was established in 2002 after the archdiocese discontinued subsidizing Catholic school tuition. Unlike the Annual Fund which focuses on the school’s immediate needs, the Endowment Fund focuses on ensuring the future financial stability of Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School. The Fund’s goals are to moderate tuition increases, fund the multi-child tuition structure and tuition assistance, and support programs to attract and retain teachers. Giving to the Endowment Fund is a wonderful opportunity to invest in the future of Catholic education. Contributions to the Endowment Fund are perpetual, and as the endowment grows, so does the school's ability to carry on its mission.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is easily defined as making the decision now to make a future gift to Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School. It is a way of proclaiming your faith in our mission of educating Catholic students and making a difference in the lives of future students. Planned giving is an opportunity to give back for all you received and establish your legacy with the next generation attending Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School.

Funded Scholarships

Our scholarships are funded by various parent organizations at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School or other individuals. Award monies are provided directly from the organization or individuals responsible for these scholarships. Contributions may be made in any amount by any individual at any time.

This fund was established in 1996 to provide financial assistance for current Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School families who are experiencing an unexpected life crisis such as death, divorce, or job loss.

Guardian Angel Fund
A donation to this fund provides a tax-deductible opportunity for donors and allows them to make a direct impact on a current student’s ability to continue to pursue a Catholic education. Donors may provide full or partial tuition scholarships for a student or students in a family that demonstrates financial need.

Dr. Amy Bennett Bellows Book and Scholarship Award
This award was established in 2013 by Brent R. Bellows in loving memory of his dear wife, Amy. Amy was the proud mother of Saint Jude students Jack and Will and was an avid Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School volunteer. Elizabeth “Bitsy” Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in 2011 by Kathy Davis Pepe in loving memory of her daughter, Bitsy, who was a student at Saint Jude and a graduate of Marist High School. Kathy Davis Pepe taught 5th grade at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School for 15 years, and established this scholarship to be presented to a 5th grade girl who displays enthusiasm for life, is fun-loving, yet a rule follower, and is kind to everyone – all qualities Bitsy displayed during her life.

Elizabeth Huffner Angel Fund
This scholarship fund was established in 2010 by Don Huffner in loving memory of his wife, Elizabeth, a former Saint Jude teacher. Funds are awarded annually to a student who possesses similar qualities to Elizabeth, her devotion to Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School and particularly, her love of literature.

This scholarship award is given annually to a current seventh grader who goes above and beyond his or her service hour requirements and is, overall, a well-rounded student at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School.  As helping others was near and dear to Liz, this award was established to recognize a student who has made an impact in the community through dedicated service to others.

Christina Marie Wenke Memorial Scholarship

Christina Marie Wenke Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 by an anonymous Saint Jude School family together with Lisa Wenke, in loving memory of her daughter, Christina, who attended Saint Jude School from kindergarten through 8th grade. Christina was a ray of sunshine, appropriate as yellow was her favorite color! She was loving, kind, and compassionate. Beautiful both inside and out, Christina was not attention-seeking, yet had a sweet, spirited personality and radiated joy and happiness to all. This scholarship will be awarded to a 5th grade student, boy or girl, who’s quiet ‘unsung hero’ demeanor and contagious smile best exemplifies our angel Christina.

The Walter and Yevette Kisil Memorial Scholarship Award

The Walter and Yevette Kisil Memorial Scholarship Award was established in 2022 by James and Tatiana Matthews, in loving memory of Tatiana’s beloved parents. Walter’s family fled communist Russia during the Cold War to practice their faith. Yevette was one of nine children, raised in a strict Catholic family, on a laborer’s salary. Both were shining examples that faith, family, tradition, gratitude, accountability, and perseverance can lead you through any challenge and dreams can become reality. This scholarship will be awarded to a 7th grade boy or girl who has shown tenacity, grit, fortitude, and a belief that “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.”

The Germaine Baxter Memorial Scholarship

The Germaine Baxter Memorial Teacher Scholarship was established in honor of Germaine Florette Baxter (Mother of Assistant Principal Josette Perez) in 2023. A devout Catholic, Germaine was born in St. Martin, New Brunswick, Canada and chose teaching elementary school as her career. She and her husband raised their family of five in Sandy Springs and were active members of Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic church for over 50 years. Germaine will always be remembered for her joie de vivre (joy of life), unfailing faith, quick wit, devotion to family, generosity to those less fortunate, and her strong morals and convictions. Germaine wanted to establish an annual scholarship of $500.00 to an outstanding teacher at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School.
