The Office of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Atlanta is entrusted with providing servant-leadership which promotes the educational ministry of the Church. Through professional collaboration, we seek to empower each school community to realize its mission.

St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School Mission Statement

St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School is a caring Christian community, founded in Catholic values, dedicated to academic excellence, and committed to preparing students to meet the challenges of the future.

PHILOSOPHY

It is our belief as the faculty of St. Jude the Apostle School that the total growth of the child - spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical and social - is of utmost importance.

This total educational program is based upon the Christian values presented in the Gospels.

The individual worth of the student is of deep concern to each teacher.    The unique value of each person is emphasized and a spirit of cooperation is encouraged throughout the school community.

The students are also taught the importance of involvement and are given opportunities to serve their families, school, parish and community.

We endeavor to provide an atmosphere where educational growth takes place on the part of both teacher and student.  Thus, experimentation in the field of professional knowledge is an on-going process.

By incorporating these ideas within the framework of the school community, we hope to set forth the concepts of persons coexisting with nature, of persons relating to his fellow students and staff, and of person answerable to his Creator.

BELIEFS

We are an Archdiocesan Catholic elementary and middle school.  Our students are encouraged to develop and demonstrate their faith in all aspects of daily life.

All students can learn; they learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional and assessment approaches to support their learning.

Student learning is the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school.

All students are valued individuals with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.  Their self-esteem is enhanced by mutual respect among all members of the school community.  Providing an emotionally safe environment is critical.

Students need to demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills, to be actively engaged in problem solving, and to produce quality work in a meaningful context.

Teachers, administrators, parents, students and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.

The commitment of all stakeholders to continuous improvement is imperative to enable students to become confident, self-directed, culturally aware, lifelong learners.
