St. Jude Catholic Church sponsors Boy Scout troops at all levels. Girl Scouts at all levels are sponsored through the school. Registration and troop
information is available annually.
Students in 7th and 8th grades can audition to be part of the cantors for our weekly school Masses. Auditions are held at the beginning of the school
year and students rehearse weekly.
Future City is a national, project-based learning experience where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades imagine, design, and build cities of the future.
Students work in teams with an educator and engineer mentor to plan cities using SimCity™ software; research and write solutions to an engineering problem;
build tabletop scale models with recycled materials; and present their ideas before judges at Regional Competitions.
Girls on the Run
Girls in grades 3 – 5 can participate in Girls on the Run®, a life-changing, character development program for girls. Registration is in mid-August and
practices are held twice a week until the end of November. Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) event with healthy living education.
Students can participate in a number of sports including soccer, baseball, cheerleading, golf, tennis, cross country, volleyball, and basketball. For

Life Teen Band
A privilege for 8th graders, students can audition to be part of our Life Teen Band which consists of guitar, electric bass, and drums. The Life Teen
Band performs at our school Masses.
The Math Club allows exceptional math students to expand their mathematical skills. Students who maintain a 95 grade or higher in math class are invited
to join. Math Club is currently open to students in grades 4 and 5.
Our news crew is made up of students in grades 6-8. Our news team writes their scripts, operates the equipment, and broadcasts the WSJA News daily into
each classroom in a live morning show.
Odyssey of the Mind
Odyssey of the Mind is an international program that provides creative problem solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Under
the guidance of a coach, teams of 5-7 students learn creative thinking and problem solving skills while finding innovative solutions to a variety of technical
and performance problems. They bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and world levels.
Middle School students are encouraged to join the Rosary Guild where they will receive a bead box with unlimited supplies to make rosaries throughout
the school year. For every 4 rosaries made, students receive one hour credit toward their service hours. Student made rosaries are blessed by the priests
at St. Jude Church before being distributed to those in need.
Students in grades 5 through 8 can assist with managing safety of the morning and afternoon carpools by joining the Safety Patrol. Participants must commit
to a weekly shift for the entire school year.
Leadership opportunities are available in the Student Council for Middle School students in grades 5 through 8.
Tech Club is composed of a small group of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who meet every other week throughout the year to share and learn new technology
utilizing iPads and laptops.
