Annual giving is the financial lifeblood of any school and is used to support the current year’s budget. The funds are used to help cover the difference between tuition and the actual cost to educate each student. It is a tax-deductible opportunity for parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, parishioners, and friends to help make a difference in the future of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School. An Annual Fund gift is a tangible vote of confidence in St. Jude School.
The Endowment Fund was established in 2002 after the archdiocese discontinued subsidizing Catholic school tuition. Unlike the Annual Fund which focuses on the school’s immediate needs, the Endowment Fund focuses on ensuring the future financial stability of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School. The Fund’s goals are to moderate tuition increases, fund the multi-child tuition structure and tuition assistance, and support programs to attract and retain teachers. Giving to the Endowment Fund is a wonderful opportunity to invest in the future of Catholic education. Contributions to the Endowment Fund are perpetual, and as the endowment grows, so does the school's ability to carry on its mission.
Our scholarships are funded by various parent organizations at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School or other individuals. Award monies are provided directly from the organization or individuals responsible for these scholarships. Contributions may be made in any amount by any individual at any time.
St. Martin Scholarship Fund
This fund was established in 1996 to provide financial assistance for current St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School families who are experiencing an unexpected life crisis such as death, divorce, or job loss.
Guardian Angel Fund
A donation to this fund provides a tax-deductible opportunity for donors and allows them to make a direct impact on a current student’s ability to continue to pursue a Catholic education. Donors may provide full or partial tuition scholarships for a student or students in a family that demonstrates financial need.
Dr. Amy Bennett Bellows Book and Scholarship Award
This award was established in 2013 by Brent R. Bellows in loving memory of his dear wife, Amy. Amy was the proud mother of St. Jude students Jack and Will and was an avid St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School volunteer. Each year, a book and scholarship will be awarded to a 4th grade girl and boy committed to reading, achieving academic excellence, and loving God — all virtues Amy cherished, lived by, and strove to instill in her children each and every day.
Elizabeth “Bitsy” Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in 2011 by Kathy Davis Pepe in loving memory of her daughter, Bitsy, who was a student at St. Jude and a graduate of Marist High School. Kathy Davis Pepe taught 5th grade at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School for 15 years, and established this scholarship to be presented to a 5th grade girl who displays enthusiasm for life, is fun-loving, yet a rule follower, and is kind to everyone – all qualities Bitsy displayed during her life.
Elizabeth Huffner Angel Fund
This scholarship fund was established in 2010 by Don Huffner in loving memory of his wife, Elizabeth, a former St. Jude teacher. Funds are awarded annually to a student who possesses similar qualities to Elizabeth, her devotion to St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School and particularly, her love of literature.
Emily Johnston Scholarship Fund
In 1988 the St. Jude School PTA established this fund in memory of Mrs. Emily Johnston, a beloved school librarian for 19 years. The fund provides tuition assistance to St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School families in financial need.
Regina Hersey Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in 2012 by Brian Hersey in loving memory of his wife, Regina. Regina was an active St. Jude parent and volunteer who loved the school and all it stands for. Each year a scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student whose parent is actively involved with the PTA and the St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School community.
Liz and Bill Oliver Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in 2016 by long-time St. Jude Church parishioner, Bill Oliver, to honor his cherished wife, Liz. This scholarship award is given annually to a current seventh grader who goes above and beyond his or her service hour requirements and is, overall, a well-rounded student at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School. As helping others was near and dear to Liz, this award was established to recognize a student who has made an impact in the community through dedicated service to others.
*MEMORIAL AND HONORARY GIFTS CAN BE ALLOCATED TO ANY OF THE ABOVE FUNDS*
